Things to Do
We know that a lot of you are traveling for our celebration (and we are so thankful for that) and as such, we wanted to provide you with some amazing ideas of things to do, see, and eat while you’re visiting the Land of Enchantment.
Meow Wolf - House of Eternal Return
A wildly interactive, immersive, and slightly mind-bending experience that’s a must-see. This one is the original Meow Wolf venue, with others in Denver, Las Vegas, and Grapevine, TX.
Pecos National Historic Park
Just outside of Santa Fe is the Pecos National Historic Park, a location known for it’s rich cultural history. It’s one of Ashley’s favorite places in New Mexico because of it’s beauty, tranquility, and the mesmerizing remains of the Pecos Pueblo and 1717 Spanish mission church.
Ojo Caliente Mineral Springs & Spa
While located an hour outside of Santa Fe, Ojo Caliente is one of the dreamiest mineral springs in New Mexico and you can enjoy one of their many different hot springs, get a relaxing massage, or book a private hot spring for you and your partner.
Loretto Chapel
A former Roman Catholic church known for its miraculous helix-shaped spiral staircase. Three mysteries surround the spiral staircase in the Loretto Chapel: the identity of its builder, the type of wood used, and the physics of its construction. A must-see.
Restaurants
Our favorite New Mexican restaurant in Santa Fe is Tomasitas but other great places to eat include The Shed, Jambo Cafe, La Reina, and Paper Dosa.
Santa Fe Farmer’s Market
We visited the Santa Fe Farmer’s Market when we celebrated our one-year dating anniversary and it was a dream. Filled with food, good local musicians, and nearby eateries, it was a wonderful stop and we are sure you’d all love it, too!
Ghost Ranch
While an hour outside of Santa Fe, this 21,000-acre retreat and education center is a definite must-see in New Mexico. It’s the home and studio of Georgia O’Keeffe, as well as the subject of many of her paintings. There are plenty of amazing hikes, a visitor center, and a stunning backdrop for your photos.
Santa Fe Historic Downtown
There’s honestly nothing better than spending a relaxing autumn day walking around Santa Fe’s Historic Downtown. Filled with museums, galleries, restaurants, and plenty of amazing shops, you’ll certainly have an enjoyable time strolling around the plaza. Just plan for extra time for parking as it gets filled quickly on the weekends!
Sandia Peak Tramway
While this is location in Albuquerque and not Santa Fe, it’s definitely a must visit, especially in the fall! It’s the longest aerial tram in the United States, traversing an impressive distance of 2.7 miles. You’ll reach an elevation of over 10,000 feet with an 11,000 square mile panoramic view. A total dream
